FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q. What is your photography style?
A. I would describe my style as a blend of traditional and unique shots, edited with a modern but vintage feel.
I love candid work, and I also try to take photos in a way that plays around with the rules of photography. This provides a product that is one-of-a-kind and special to you.

Q. Is there any type of photography you don't do?
A. I refer out for newborn shoots, cake smashes, headshots, boudoir, and anyone who has strictly studio needs. Exceptions for friends and referrals.

Q. Can we keep all of our photos?
A. Yes. You will receive a digital catalog containing all of the high-res photographs with print and usage rights. I have a handful of professional printers that I recommend, but my clients are welcome to print their photos wherever they prefer.

Q. How many photos will you take?
A. This will vary shoot to shoot. The number of images fluctuates depending on the type of session, amount of people involved, variation of poses, outfit or location changes, length of time while shooting, etc.
With that said, one of my favorite things to say to clients is: "if it feels like I am taking a million photos of you, it's because I am." At points, you might feel a little bit like the paparazzi is following you. You can feel good that no moment is going un-missed.

Q. Are the photographs retouched?
A. Yes, all of your photos will be returned after being edited in Lightroom & Photoshop.

Q. Can I have the RAW files/unedited shots/choose what images you edit?
A. No. As a photographer and editor, it is part of my job to sift through the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds (seriously) of photos I take and pull the best ones. It is time-consuming process, so leave it up to me.
I will get rid of any repeats, photos where you may be blinking or talking mid-sentence, etc. I won't withhold any images I think you may love.

Q. What if I want a second-shooter?
A. I am booked with the assumption and pricing that I will be shooting alone, but we can work together on hiring a second photographer at your request.

Q. What should I wear?
A. What you wear is dependent on the type of shoot and location. The most important thing in the outfit you choose is that you know it is something you feel good in and are comfortable in.
Please reach out to me if you need ideas or an opinion on color/style/etc. Generally I recommend individuals try and avoid wearing patterns, anything with a slogan or logo on it, and colors that will clash or blend in with your location (such as a green dress in a location with a lot of grass/trees).

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. Yes, with the caveat we have a plan. Please either bring someone who can look after your dog on the chance they get bored/anxious/upset/etc., or choose a location near your home where your dog can be taken back to once we are done shooting with them.

Q. How long after will I see my photos?
A. This is dependent on your type of shoot and the amount of work I currently have on my plate. Generally, people can expect to see their photos back within one to two months.

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?
A. I shoot primarily Nikon with a variety of both Nikon & Sigma lenses. I am preferential to prime lenses during portrait work but also have a 24-70mm that I use for diverse angles.

Q. Is a deposit required to hold my session date?
A. Generally, yes. A retainer of 50% of your package price is required to hold your date. The retainer amount applies toward your final contracted fee. The retainer amount is non-refundable.

Q. What if I have to cancel?
A. People get sick, pandemics mess up plans, emergencies come up, sh*t happens. Please reach out as soon as you know you need to cancel and we can discuss rescheduling or other options.
